Hi again everyone,

Hope you all had a good weekend. Wow, camp is just flying by so fast! I feel sad to think I am leaving in little more than three days but excited to see everyone again. Just a few highlights of each day:

Day 3: Bec and I led the fitness; we all played a game of long-base. After a very competitive match Wardli’s four and five came out winners! After we listened to Quintin Agius talk about his aboriginal heritage and watched his niece dance. It was then our turn and watching Bec, Henrietta and Tashi pretend to be kangaroos and hunters in an aboriginal dance was definitely a highlight for my day.

Day 4: Even though we stayed at the Wambana site all day it was a long and tiring day. At 7:15 went for our usual 3.3km run and I managed a time of 15:15 which I almost died doing. Later in the morning we did tournament of the minds and there were lots of laughs when it came to creating our characters, there was:
Maddey: Kendra from the playboy mansion
Izzy: Tree Hugging Association leader called Rain
Bec: Mad scientist
Tudo: Hitler risen from the dead as an asian
and then there were the normal ones: I was the judge and Kiasah and Chrissy were the jury
In the afternoon it was time for the cook off. Sadly our grand plan went terribly wrong with the result so bad that after presentation it was thrown away. We organised to make a map of Wambana on a base of brownies. The bownies however were burnt at the top and the bottom ended up soggy. Our sea which was purple jelly melted and soaked through the barrier causing a tsumasi with devastating effects. I felt sorry for the taste testers!
After our cook off disaster Izzy and I decided to head for a walk to find the local tennis courts. After trespassing, seeing a beheaded brown snake, dead bird, two headed blue tongue lizard, asking a fat old half naked man for directions we finally found the tennis courts… Locked! Very frustrated we trudged back to Wambana, hot, sweaty and in need of a good swim. Dinner was a funny affair with Maddey refusing to wash a cup and drank her coke from a bowl. The rest of our night ended very well watching and singing along to Bring it on.

Day 5: Had a really great day. In the morning we headed to a beautiful beach and had a lovely morning playing beach games and swimming. The water was amazing and ended up very sandy. In the afternoon we worked on our English then Chill out time. I admit it is not the most enjoyable thing sitting out in the heat with flies but I think to have that time by yourself is really important. We watched an episode of the Simpsons for ethics then went for a night walk which was fascinating to sit and look at the stars. My highlight of the day had to be when Isabel who thought the tomato sauce bottle wasn’t working pointed it up at her face. There was no surprise when it went all over her shirt and face and we were all in tears we were laughing so much.

I’m having a really great time but looking forward to coming home, having a hit of tennis and seeing you all. I should be back at school Tuesday as Ms Klovekorn is giving me a lift on Monday.

Bye for now! Love Brooke
